Holiday Brussels sprouts & Maple Bacon Butter
Holiday Brussels sprouts & Maple Bacon Butter
Items you will need:
Fresh or frozen brussels sprouts 12-16 oz (we used fresh)
1 container of our maple bacon butter
Optional white onion
Optional extra bacon
Optional fresh grated parmesan cheese
Salt
Pepper
Olive Oil
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees
Wash your brussels sprouts and cut the ends off each one then set to the side
Chop up one small white onion, add both the onion and the brussels sprouts to a large bowl
Add olive oil (one TBS at a time) to the bowl until all of your brussels sprouts are generously coated.
Add 1 tsp of salt and one tsp of pepper to the bowl
Melt 2 TBS of our maple bacon butter and add to brussels sprouts.
Cover the bowl and GENTLY shake well
Pour the brussels sprout and onion mixture onto a slightly greased cookie sheet pan or onto a pan lined with parchment paper.
Bake the brussels sprouts for 40 minutes, gently stirring halfway through cooking time
I personally like my brussels sprouts a little crispier and if you do also, then at the end of the 40-minute cook time, go ahead and crank the oven up to 425 degrees and continue cooking for 10-15 minutes longer.
Once the brussels sprouts are cooked, place them in a glass bowl
At this point if you wanted to add extra bacon go ahead and add your extra cooked bacon right on top of the brussels sprouts.
Add 3 TBS or more if desired of our maple bacon butter to the bowl (you DO NOT want to pre-melt the butter beforehand this time as the heat from the brussels sprouts will do that slowly and help to evenly coat the mixture.
Transfer brussels sprouts to a plate and grate your desired amount of parmesan cheese over the top.
Let cool, serve, and enjoy!
